In a pleasant turn of events for Nintendo owners looking to purchase Guitar Hero III, Activison has announced plans to release a Guitar Hero III pack for the Wii that will come with two guitars instead of one. Take this with a grain of salt as it will only be available immediately in Australia for the time being. All indications point to a worldwide release if all goes well though.
All of you who own Guitar Hero III and have been shopping around for an extra axe know how hard it is to actually find one.

Space Invaders Extreme for the Nintendo DS officially marks the franchise’s 30th anniversary. To celebrate in true old-school style, this remake will feature all new power-ups handed to you by shooting four aliens of the same color. The power ups come in a variety of colors and each of them give an extra twist to this old-school classic.

The red power ups will allow you to drop cluster bombs, the green ones give you a wide spread gun, and the blue gives you control over a massive laser beam that has the ability to cut thru a row of aliens like a hot knife through butter. What’s the catch to these power ups? You must shoot four aliens of the same exact color in order to get them, if you shoot three red and then a green, you have to start right back from square one. Also, if you have a power up and get another one, you lose the one you had before. These small yet addicting new features brings another dimension and brand-new game play to this old-school classic.

Toss in added Paddle Controls (A peripheral made specifically for Arkanoid DS), a killer soundtrack and some great looking graphics and you have yourself an excellent remake of a classic that will be sure to have you hooked like the classic game did back in your high school days.

The bad news in all this is that no publisher has officially announced this game’s release date. Square Enix is said to release the game sometime in the summer for $19.99 but there has been no official word as of yet

WiiWare, which will allow for game makers to distribute their content on the Wii without Nintendo approval, will still have to get their games rated by an industry rating system such as the ESRB, says the Wall Street Journal. Nonetheless, this type of freedom has never been available before and it should allow for more creative games with bolder and edgier storylines that are a desperate necessity of the Nintendo Wii.
We will continue to follow the latest development on WiiWare and Wii Fit very closely and will pass on the information to you as soon as it is released.
